Our top 5 independent cafes that we’ll definitely be brunching at after lockdown.
With the news that our favourite coffee shops, restaurants & bars will be opening again in July – we couldn’t stop thinking about all the places we will be paying a visit in Manchester city centre. Take a look at our top 5…
1. Siop Shop
A staff favourite – Siop is based in the Northern Quarter on Tib Street and they are famous for their delicious donuts & insanely fresh coffee. They’ve been open for collection over lockdown, but we can’t wait to join them for brunch ASAP. See their website here. Or follow them on Instagram here.
2. Just Between Friends
Another Tib Street favourite is the little coffee shop on her corner Just Between Friends. They’re a tiny store, so get there early to get a seat. But it’s definitely work it. They have a select menu which showcases their best bits. Including their avocado on fresh sourdough toast. See their website. And their Instagram.
Moving on to some more delicious food… VietShack. No more words necessary. They have a take out store in the Arndale but also have a restaurant in Ancoats for all of your Vietnamese food needs. Self built, self designed, self created and self funded. They epitomise independent restaurants. They’re a pretty big deal on Instagram.
4. Terrace NQ
Let’s talk cocktails. This cosy little bar in the Northern Quarter is the perfect place for sipping your favourite ale, g&t or cocktail on their rooftop garden in the sunshine. Open pipework & a beautiful aesthetic. Weekends they (usually) have live music and DJ’s. Roll on July. See their Instagram here.
5. Sugo Pasta Kitchen
Did someone say carbs? We can’t wait to get our pasta fix from Sugo Pasta Kitchen in Ancoats. Until then, they’re on Deliveroo! They’ve picked up awards such as MFDF’s best casual restaurant in 2019 and it was definitely well deserved. See their website here and their Instagram here.
